Healing in Reading?

Dear Reader,

I hope you’re coping well with the intense heat!

Palestine has become a life-changing catalyst for many of us.

“Many people are learning about Palestine for the first time. Even those of us who thought they knew all about it, are discovering so much to unlearn and relearn. Gaza changed everything as the masks of the “rules-based world order” crumbled. … We cannot go back to the same blinded worldview.”

So I write in the introduction to my latest book, Palestine Bleeds For You (Fomite Press, 2026).

Here, you can watch my urgent and critical conversation on the Builders of the Broken Bazaar podcast with Dr. Tabish Zaman (Cambridge, UK). This no-holds-barred, uncensored conversation dissects the naked power structure governing the world, and the question of what to unlearn and what to relearn in its place.

I also share a thoughtful and personal review from Greta Berlin of the book.

Can books heal? I share a few reflections on the thought. I also include a selection from my Substack, Renegade Living, on taking back our lives.

Many thanks to those of you who have attended my book signings in Baltimore and Washington, DC (see photos below). More events are in planning.

Media, podcasters, bookstores, and organizations interested in interviewing me or hosting an event, please reply to this email.

With love,
Ramsey Hanhan

Palestine Bleeds For You

Fomite Press, 2026, 218 pages

The shrieks of warplanes on their way to bomb Gaza provoked Ramsey Hanhan to write. This collection of poetry and essays plumbs the depths of human thought, religion, history, and culture in search of hope amid the world’s criminal silence. In an authentic Palestinian voice, Hanhan sketches the workings of the global machinery of oppression, revealing the centrality of Palestine’s liberation to decolonization, social justice, and environmental justice struggles around the world. “The book I never wanted to write.”

Ramsey Hanhan is a father, scientist, and independent author of two books: Palestine Bleeds For You (2026) and the autobiographical Fugitive Dreams (2022). His short stories, essays, and poetry appear in The Harvard Advocate, Fikra magazine, Scene48, Mondoweiss and other publications. A former physics professor, Ramsey lives near Baltimore, and speaks on Palestine and literature.

Dear Reader, Drum roll ready? As promised, you are among the first to see the unveiling of the cover for my new book, Palestine Bleeds For You.
